Thirty-eight years
in fish health
A new-generation fish vaccination machine
An automated intraperitoneal fish vaccination machine built for fish from 10 to 200 g, designed by a team that has worked in fish health for thirty-eight years and running in daily commercial production since 2025. Counts and operating data stay at the facility; remote monitoring and control can be configured on request.
The working life behind this brand goes back to 1988, to what was then the second hatchery in Türkiye. Over that period the people behind the brand have supplied vaccines and immunostimulant feed additives, built vaccination programmes by species and pathogen, and carried those programmes out in the field. The fish vaccination machine, whose development began in 2022, comes out of the same body of experience and has been in daily commercial production since 2025.
Design priority: uptime and on-site maintenance
The design of the fish vaccination machine is built on simplicity. Dosing is mechanical: the setting is fixed and needs no calibration, so the dose delivered on the last day of the season is the dose delivered on the first. The heads work independently of one another, each with its own vaccine feed, and can also be run on different formulations. Routine maintenance is carried out on site by the facility's own crew; the machine is designed for it.
The same volume, every injection
Positive displacement: the piston stroke is mechanically limited, so the delivered volume does not depend on vaccine viscosity, temperature or supply pressure. The stroke alone sets the volume, and no calibration routine is required.
From a single head to sixteen
Configuration starts from a single head and is set to the facility's need. The standard AEV-8 carries 8 heads in a 4×2 layout, a count chosen after different head counts had been tried in the field. The model number is the head count, from AEV-4 to AEV-16; intermediate and odd head counts are built to order.
On land, on the water, easily moved
The machine runs in land-based hatcheries and on floating platforms at sea cage sites. Because dosing is mechanical rather than sensed, the delivered volume stays constant under moderate wave motion, and the machine's mounting is designed to damp platform vibration. The load-bearing structure is 316 stainless steel, the profiles and fittings anodised aluminium, selected for contact with seawater and salt. It has been trialled on a floating platform at a sea cage site on the Aegean, and stays compact enough to be moved between rooms or sites as the season requires.
Scales cleared automatically, every injection
After every injection the needle is cleared automatically, while the machine is running and without anyone touching it, so the needle stays clear of scale and tissue. The same action limits tissue passing from one fish to the next and reduces the risk of cross-contamination; the needle enters every fish clean.
Same point, same depth, every fish
In hand injection, depth and angle depend on the vaccinator's hand, and over a long shift both are likely to vary. Here the fish is held in a fixed position and the holder height is set to its size, so it stays steady as the needle goes in. The needle enters at the same point and the same depth every time, the tissue around the injection site is protected, and the dose is placed where the protocol requires it. The needle goes in and comes out quickly, so the point of entry closes behind it.
The operator's hands stay clear of the needle
The fish is placed outside the injection zone, and the operator's hands stay clear of the needle while the machine is running. Needle-stick injury and accidental self-injection are the two incidents every vaccination crew guards against; a design that keeps the operator's hands away from the needle removes the contact they arise from.
Every head counts itself
Each head keeps its own tally and one summary panel shows them together. Every vaccinated fish is recorded, so the operations manager and the fish health officer can check the figure against the stocking figures at any time. Counting head by head shows how the run is going while the work is in progress, not at the end of the season.
It brings its own network
Each machine broadcasts its own local Wi-Fi hotspot and connects to an Android app over the hotspot or over Bluetooth, so the counts can be read at the machine or from a phone within the hotspot's range. Remote monitoring and control can be configured on request; with that configuration the counts can also be read from outside the site. There is no corporate network to join, no cabling to run and no IT approval to wait for, and the machine works the same way whether or not the facility has an internet connection. In the standard configuration counts and operating data stay inside the facility as the facility's own records and are not sent to an external server or a cloud account.
Air and power. Nothing else
No dedicated water supply, network connection or purpose-built room. Compressed air and electricity are the only services the machine needs from the facility, which is what allows it to be commissioned quickly and moved later without further site works.
Fish vaccination machine figures, measured in production
These figures come from a machine in daily commercial use, not from a bench rating. The machine has been running since 2025 at Noordzee Su Ürünleri A.Ş. in Türkiye, and has been trialled on sea bass and on rainbow trout at further sites on the Aegean coast, on the Black Sea coast and inland.
Fish vaccinated to date
The approximate total the machine has delivered so far, in field trials and in daily commercial production together.
Fish per shift
Approximate output over an eight-hour shift at the recommended throughput, in the standard AEV-8 configuration. At that pace each head vaccinates one fish every two seconds; the engineering rating of the AEV-8 is up to approximately 25,000 fish per hour. The machine is run by the facility's own shift staff, with no need to bring in a professional vaccination crew. Reaching the same output by hand injection takes a crew about three times the size.
Doses per litre
Approximate vaccine consumption at a 0.1 ml setting. The mechanical stroke limit holds the dose, and with it the consumption, constant.
Running in daily production
The machine has been in daily commercial production at the Noordzee Su Ürünleri A.Ş. facility since 2025.
Sea bass on the Aegean, trout on the Black Sea and inland
On the Aegean the machine has been trialled successfully on sea bass at four sites: the hatcheries of Kılıç Deniz Ürünleri Üretimi İhracat İthalat ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Abalıoğlu Balık ve Gıda Ürünleri A.Ş. in Bodrum, the Akvatek Su Ürünleri A.Ş. hatchery in Çeşme, and a floating platform at a sea cage site. Trials on rainbow trout at Kuzuoğlu Su Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and one further producer on the Black Sea coast, and at an inland site in Elazığ, were also concluded successfully. Trials on salmon are in progress and successful to date; they run on a configuration of the same machine in which the holder, needle and cycle times are matched to the larger fish.
Vaccination from 10 g upward
The lower bound is the point at which immersion vaccination stops and injection begins, so fish can be vaccinated earlier, while they are still in a land-based facility. The upper bound is 200 g. The machine is suitable for sea bass, sea bream, trout, salmon and other farmed fish species.
From hand vaccination to the AEV-8: what changes?
Crew, dose, needle, counting and installation — eleven criteria side by side. Hand vaccination in general terms; on the AEV-8 side, only the values published on this site.

Capacity and throughput figures are approximate. Output on site varies with species, fish weight and condition, water temperature, facility layout and the experience of the operating crew. This does not apply to dose range, weight range and head count: these are design specifications, confirmed with the customer before the order.
Installation, training and season-long support after delivery
What stands behind a fish vaccination machine matters as much as the machine itself. The path from installation to the end of the season is set out below.
Installed and started up on site
The machine is installed at the customer's own facility, connected and set up. Installation is complete once the machine is running under production conditions.
Operators trained on site
Training in fish placement, monitoring and routine maintenance is delivered on the machine supplied, with the facility's own crew and at the facility itself.
Reachable through the season
Remote support runs through the vaccination season. Questions raised during the season are answered by the team that knows the machine.

Frequently asked questions about the fish vaccination machine
What is Aegean Vaccine?
Aegean Vaccine is the brand of an automated fish vaccination machine built in Urla, İzmir. The brand belongs to İzmir Paketleme Lojistik İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti. The machine delivers intraperitoneal vaccine to farmed fish from 10 to 200 g.
Which species is the fish vaccination machine used on?
Sea bass, sea bream, trout, salmon and other farmed fish species. In the field it has been trialled on sea bass and rainbow trout; trials on salmon are in progress.
How many fish does the machine vaccinate per hour?
In the standard AEV-8 configuration the recommended throughput is approximately 15,000 fish per hour, or 120,000 fish in an eight-hour shift. Output on site varies with species, fish weight, water temperature and the experience of the crew.
How many heads can the machine be configured with?
Configuration starts from a single head and is set to the facility's need. The standard models have 4, 8, 12 and 16 heads; intermediate and odd head counts are built to order. Each head has its own vaccine feed and its own counter.
How is the dose set?
Positive-displacement mechanical dosing, from 0.01 to 0.25 ml, set to the customer's protocol before the order; the setting can be changed on request.
Can the machine run different vaccines at the same time?
Yes. Each head has its own vaccine feed and its own stroke setting, so on the AEV-8 each of the eight heads can carry a different formulation, and a change of formulation does not call for recalibration.
Can it be used at sea cage sites?
Yes. It runs in land-based hatcheries and on floating platforms at sea cage sites.
What does installation require?
Compressed air and electricity only. Installation on site, operator training and remote support through the season are provided.
Where is the machine made?
In Urla, İzmir, Türkiye. It is CE marked and has been running in daily commercial production since 2025.
What does an automatic fish vaccinator do differently from hand vaccination?
It vaccinates every fish at the same point and to the same depth; the dose is mechanically fixed; the operator's hands stay clear of the needle while the machine is running; and each head keeps its own count. A side-by-side comparison with hand vaccination is set out on a separate page.
